Specs and Overview of the Grizzly G0715P
With a 10” blade, riving knife and the quality name of Grizzly stamped on the side of this rig, a powerful machine is on display here. Hybrid table saws such as the Polar Bear Series G0715P are become a more popular option due to their incredible features, quality dust control, comparable advantage on price and their size. With an arbor speed of 3,850 RPM, 2 hp single phase motor this saw is a high powered beast ready to slice anything you throw at it. The motor also has the option of being run on 110 or 220 volt depending on your location, which is great for workshops, but also means you can run it at home.
Quality of the Grizzly Polar Bear Series
For the price of these saws, they offer incredible value for money. When you compare the prices of a true cabinet saw vs a hybrid, you can see that you get a lot for your money. The motor drives the blade via a serpentine belt system, which gives the machine great power, less slippage, and more torque to wind its way through even the most dense materials. Cast iron wings on the Grizzly give it the all important width for handling large cuts, and the extra space they give is more than adequate for residential jobs, and most commercial sized jobs.
Accuracy of the Grizzly Hybrid Saw
With a t-square style fence, many joiners and hobbyists will be rejoicing. This style of fence are easy to use, very intuitive, and the actual fence on the Grizzly has been well engineered. The Cam-lock style fences are highly popular with wood workers all around the world due to their patented design which allows for precision accuracy, and ease of use, and are also extremely reliable. At 416 pounds shipping weight, this machine will reduce vibrations, although it depends on how you mount it, and where. Ensure that you are placing the machine on a true, flat surface, or even better, on a custom mount.
Extra Info On The Grizzly
One feature we loved was the project clipboard on the side – something a bit different from the team at Grizzly that can help with organising your jobs and plans. The cast iron trunnions and table are extremely well engineered to a high degree of accuracy (0.001). The warranty on the Grizzly is for one year, which is good, although some other models will come with a 5 year warranty, albeit, at a much higher price.
Safety Features on the Grizzly
Featuring a changeable riving knife, cuts where you don’t cut all the way through the material are now safer, easier and faster. The quality of the riving knife is top end, and it also comes with dado inserts for those specific cuts. At 83 decibels, this saw is also relatively quiet, and if you are upgrading from an older saw, you will definitely notice the difference. The 4” dust port collects a large percentage of the dust, which is one of the main benefits Grizzly has worked into their Polar Bear Series.
Who Would This Saw Suit?
Grizzly is a company that has been in business since 1983, which is long enough to have incredible machinery, but some of the other tool brands overshadow them due to them being around for longer. Grizzly produces machines that are incredible for the price, but they just don’t quite have that powerful name brand that some others do, but this is good for you. Grizzly sell their saws for far less than competing brands, and they are often just as good, if not, better (the G0715P is a great example of this).
For this reason, anybody from a beginning woodworker all the way through to a high end contractor would get marvelous value from this saw. It takes up a lot less room than a contractor saw and has more power and dust extraction, while also being cheaper than a true cabinet saw.
Review Summary
Compare the price on the saw, and the incredible features and build quality to other competing brands, and you will see just what we mean. This saw is a powerhouse, and great value for money. Take a look at Amazon.com’s price on the Grizzly G0715P Review if you’re interested.
